Caring for Yourself - Inside and Out

We are very proud to provide this service. We are both trained and certified to offer a supportive, informative, enjoyable first step toward renewed self-esteem, self-confidence, and emotional recovery for women cancer patients undergoing radiation and/or chemotherapy.

This wonderful program was founded in 1989 by the cosmetic, toiletry, and fragrance Association Foundation, a charitable organization supported by the cosmetic industry's trade association, in partnership with the American Cancer Society and the National Cosmetology Association. It is a free national public service program to help women undergoing cancer treatment learn to cope with the appearance-related side effects of treatment and regain a sense of self-confidence and control over their lives. These side effects may include hair loss and changes in complexion and fingernails, and are often emotionally and psychologically traumatizing.

We are here to teach women how to enhance their appearance using make-up techniques. Each woman learns to perform her own make-over using complimentary cosmetics and skin care products donated by the cosmetic industry. The woman also learn how to disguise hair loss using wigs, turbans, scarves, and various accessories.
